ICC Preferred Provider Continuing Education Course

This course will provide a brief overview of the fundamentals, codes and standards, including the International Building Code (IBC) and American Concrete Institute (ACI) 318, regarding the construction of structural concrete formwork, embeds and joints.  Topics will include a review of the requirements for concrete formwork, embeds, and joints.

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the ACI 318 requirements for formwork, embeds, and construction joints.
  2. Understand the requirements for formwork including design, construction, and removal.
  3. Understand the requirements for embeds including pipes, conduits and sleeves.
  4. Identify the differences and purpose for construction, contraction and isolation joints.
