ICC Preferred Provider Continuing Education Course 0.2 CEU’s 

This course will provide a brief overview of the codes and standards, including the International Building Code (IBC) and American Concrete Institute (ACI) 318, in regards to the practices used when placing concrete. Topics will include the requirements for pre-placement preparation, best practices during placement, consolidation types, curing practices, cold weather concreting, and hot weather concreting. 

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the ACI 318 requirements for the placement of structural concrete.
  2. Understand the importance of workability of concrete in concrete placement.
  3. Identify the different types of concrete consolidation.
  4. Recognize the different types of curing methods that can be used when curing concrete.
  5. Understand when precautions for hot weather concreting shall be implemented.
  6. Understand when precautions for cold weather concreting shall be implemented.
