ICC Preferred Provider Continuing Education Course

This course provides an overview of the codes and standards for the use of concrete materials. Topics include a review of concrete constituents, materials testing, admixtures, pozzolans and air entrainment.  The IBC and ACI 318 specification requirements for concrete and materials used in concrete will be reviewed.

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the different types and combinations of admixtures including:
   • Water-Reducing Admixtures
   • Retarding Admixtures
   • Accelerating Admixtures
2. Understand the purpose and use of air entrained concrete.
3. Understand the types and usages of pozzolans.
4. Understand the IBC and ACI 318 requirements for concrete materials.
